Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from the ACTH (4-10) hormone, developed in Russia and approved there for strokes and cognitive disorders. It works by increasing BDNF (neurotrophic factor) and NGF, modulating dopamine and serotonin, and improving neuroplasticity. It is one of the most potent peptide nootropics available, with a rapid effect via the intranasal route.

Semax is a synthetic heptapeptide derived from the ACTH (4-10) hormone, supplied strictly for laboratory research. It is investigated in research models for elevating BDNF and NGF, modulating dopamine and serotonin, improving neuroplasticity, focus and neuroprotection, and is not intended for human or veterinary use.
Add 2 mL of bacteriostatic water (200 IU) down the inner wall of the 10 mg vial, yielding 5 mg/mL = 50 mcg per IU. Cool the water only 3 minutes beforehand, do not shake, and swirl gently until clear, then label with the date and refrigerate at 2–8 °C, where it stays stable for 28 days.
Research protocols reference the intranasal route, preferred to reach the CNS directly, applied 1–3 times a day. The standard reference dose is 600–900 mcg/day in divided amounts, with single research draws of 500 mcg (10 IU), 750 mcg (15 IU) or 1 mg (20 IU). These parameters are laboratory reference only and are not dosing guidance for living subjects.
Research reference cycles run 2–4 consecutive weeks followed by breaks. Because Semax can be stimulating, application is preferably in the morning and midday, and it is documented as compatible with Selank for a focus/calm balance in research models.
